Welcome to the site of the University Curlers at Yale - Graduate and Undergraduate Division
4th place winners of the 2019 USA College Curling National Championship
We are so excited that you are interested in the wonderful sport of curling! No matter who you are, we would be excited to have you join us for one of our learn to curl events. If there is no event listed soon, please feel free to email us here and we can arrange for you to come to a practice.
This website will provide you will all information about this great sport and the University Curlers at Yale (us) both the Undergraduate and Graduate Division. Despite the misleading name we pride ourselves that everyone on our team curls together. Men and Women, Graduate and Undergraduates, people with a disability, competitive and social curlers. You can take part in as much or as little of the curling life as you want or your schedule allows. There is no expectation - we are just glad to see many people curl.
One key aspect of our club and curling in general is the Spirit of Curling. While we all want to win a game it is crucial that after a game we shake hands, sit together to have a meal, chat and enjoy each other’s company. We have a large set of events in addition to the traditional after game broom-stacking and one of the best comraderies on campus. This is also reflected in our mission statement.
We practice every Sunday from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Nutmeg Curling Club (123 Glenwood Ave, Bridgeport, CT). Our secretary arranges carpools for everyone to get from New Haven to Bridgeport and back. Social events happen all through the year and summer. In winter there are tournaments that you can participate in most weekends (even if you have only attended a learn to curl, and you get better the more you play). You can also become a full member of our host club and curl every night of the week (if you really like curling).
We cannot wait to see you on the ice soon
